Floella Seitz Obituary (1931

Floella Seitz, 81, of rural Carmi, Illinois, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, in Carmi from the results of a traffic accident. She was born May 3, 1931, in Carmi, the daughter of Fred and Lena (Pfister) Sailer. She married Kenneth E. Seitz on June 4, 1949, and he preceded her in death earlier this year on January 28. Floella was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Carmi. She was a farm wife and helped on the farm driving tractors and grain trucks. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making costumes, doing alterations, piecing together quilt tops and then quilting them, and making loom-woven rugs. Gardening and cooking were among her favorite pastimes. Survivors include son John R. (Susan) Seitz of South Haven, Michigan; daughters Sandra K. (Charles) Williams of Carrier Mills, Illinois, Jeanie (Terry) Spielman of Pecatonica, Illinois; son-in-law Jerry (Carolyn) Crockett of Eldorado, Illinois; brother-in-law Donald (Carolyn) Seitz; sister-in-law Marilyn (Jon) Westfall all of Carmi; grandchildren John David (Courtney) Crockett, Nicholas (Richelle) Williams, Erin Williams, Johnna (Nick) Bither; great grandchildren Lucas Connelly Crockett, Sophia Laren Crockett, Brodie Crockett, Isabella Williams, Emma Bither, Konnor Clark, Kaden Pentecost. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters Emma Duvall, Florence May, Margaret Sailer, Ruby Daniel, Helen Simmons; brother John Sailer. Visitation is 5-7 pm, Friday, October 19, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Funeral is at 10 am, Saturday, October 20, with burial in White County Memorial Gardens near Carmi. Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
