Robert D. Upton

Robert D. Upton, 71, of Carmi, Illinois, died Monday, June 21, 2021, at his home. He was born July 12, 1949, In Carmi, the son of John and Doris (Hoy) Upton. He was married to Karen (Aud) Upton in 1983, and she survives.

Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran and attended the Stewart Street Baptist Church in Carmi. He worked in maintenance and repair of farm implements. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed watching television western shows and game shows. Spending time with his grandchildren and family was his favorite thing to do.

Survivors include his wife Karen Upton of Carmi; daughter Lisa (Joseph) Trebuth of Carmi; brothers Mike (Patricia) Upton of Cynthiana, Indiana, and Kenny Upton of Danville, Illinois; grandchildren Raven, Markus, Caiden and Emmi.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with Bobs wishes, his remains were cremated and there are no services planned.

Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
